Therapy School: DBT & Somatic Skills Group for Therapists
Grad school taught you the why. Real life demands the how.
Most therapists are "highly informed" but feel a low sense of confidence when a session gets heavy, high-conflict, or stays stuck in the "insight loop." You want to help your clients move the needle, but you're navigating a changing world and a burnt-out nervous system—both theirs and your own.
Therapy School is a 6-session Skills Lab designed to level up your practice with the best skills for the worst times.
We move straight into a curated, relational blend of DBT, RO-DBT, IFS, Somatic Experiencing, and ACT. This isn't just another didactic training; it's a supportive, non-judgmental space to develop, practice, and integrate practical tools you can use in your very next session.
What you'll learn
Inside Therapy School, you'll build grounded, compassionate, immediately usable tools for the real pace of therapy sessions and real life.
DBT, embodied
Use DBT skills in a way that feels alive, not mechanical.
Nervous system tracking
Track states in yourself and clients, and match skills to states. Learn what "regulated" actually means.
Compassionate intervention
Teach skills like distress tolerance without bypassing pain, avoiding the hard stuff, or invalidating learned shame.
Relational repair
Support boundaries, repair, flexibility, and connection in hard moments. Model relational skills through a real relationship.
The 6-session Skills Lab
Six focused sessions that move from clinical understanding into practical skill, embodied practice, and real integration.
Week 1 — DBT Basics for Real Life: How to incorporate DBT skills into any therapeutic modality, bringing bottom-up and top-down approaches together.
Week 2 — Integrative Emotion Regulation: Combine DBT emotion regulation with somatic tracking, polyvagal awareness, and cognitive tools so clients gain self-fluency and learn to regulate in relevant contexts.
Week 3 — Therapist Toolkit: Greatest Hits: Go-to interventions for anxiety, shutdown, anger, shame, overwhelm, and relational activation, chosen and adapted in the moment.
Week 4 — From Fusion to Flexibility: Help clients unhook from thoughts, emotions, urges, and survival responses so they can access more value-aligned choice in the moment.
Week 5 — Relief-Seeking Behaviors & Harm Reduction: Explore behavioral addictions, eating disorder patterns, compulsive coping, avoidance, and relief-seeking without shame or moralizing.
Week 6 — The Relationship: Heart of Connection: Bring regulation, rupture, repair, boundaries, and interpersonal effectiveness into the therapeutic relationship with skill, not winging it.
