Life Skills Group: Tools for Effective Living

A Dialectical Behavior Therapy inspired skills group with influences from; somatic therapy, tapping (EFT), IFS, and ACT. This group is for people who are looking for practical skills to help gain more control over their thoughts, emotions, and overall experiences in their daily lives. This group is for you if you have insight into problematic behaviors in work, relationships, and ineffective coping and want to learn skills to change and become more effective in your life. Folks don’t have to be in DBT or individual therapy but need to do a free consultation with me to assess for fit.

$100/group for 10 weeks

Topics covered will include:

  • Effectiveness Training: skills for relationships with yourself, others, and the ever-changing world we live in.

  • Mindfulness: Being in the present moment without judgment and cultivating practical techniques to utilize mindfulness in your daily life.

  • Emotion Regulation: Reducing vulnerabilities to being dysregulated and what to do to cope with intense emotions.

  • Acceptance, Change, and Willingness: the reason we need all three if we want to be free.

  • Validation and Dialectics

  • Distress Tolerance: When you can’t make it better, not making it worse and what to do.

  • Self-Compassion: Understanding that our coping is rooted in a desire to feel safe and viewing our different patterns and behaviors with compassion.
